Pressure sensors find a lot of application fields inside a car, like engine monitoring, air conditioning, tire pressure and fuel tank monitoring.
The new innovative media resisitive MS7212 is idealy suited for harsh environments.

In miniature products, small size die sensor like the MS767 or the MS7812D are ideal. They fit perfectly in products like brake pressure or tire pressure control systems due to their small size and high output signal.

The most sophisticated, cutting-edge, pressure sensor is the MS5541. This device contains an integrated circuit making the A-to-D conversion and storing calibration data. It also provides a very simple three-wire digital interface to any microcontroller. Its wide pressure range (0 to 14 bar) makes it ideal for automotive systems.

SMD devices like the MS5407 represent an intermediate solution between the die and the full module with IC. The SMD device is a ceramic substrate with the sensor glued on it and protected with a metal cap. This eases the device mounting, allowing standard reflow soldering.

Tire Pressure Monitoring

Intersema has developped a Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) demonstration system using the MS5401-BM SMD device. A complete description can be found in the following application note : an601.pdf
